Some comedian once said, “I live each day as if it were my last day on earth. That’s why my house is never cleaned because who wants to clean their house on their last day on earth?”
I’ve always told my kids that I’m not there to see their house. And most people……not including my mother-in-law……don’t care if the house looks lived in.
