I had a boss berate me for several minutes for not being on time for a meeting to which I was not invited until a phone call after it started. I told him I was not invited and he said I still should have known and been there. So I said “I am sorry you feel that way but I am not psychic.” His response was “At least you apologized. Now we can get started”
I was stunned. That “apology” would have set my wife off. “You can’t apologize for my feelings.”
