    There is nothing on my computer that I would be devastated to lose that I don’t have backed up elsewhere. Mostly I don’t trust them any more after one was actually damaged by lightning and one totally went useless and bonkers while the cable guy was working on the box outside for another neighbor. I had to set that computer back to a previous date, losing much data. Cable swore it had nothing to do with them. I think it was some sort of power surge, but I am no pro on that topic.

    Turn it off, then back on. If it is still there, take it to a pro. Whatever you do, don’t pay the ransom.
