None of the questions in either strip (or 1970s variation thereof) was ever asked or would have been asked of me or my sisters.
We were not asked what we wanted as gifts and if we said we wanted something – one thing was sure, THAT was something we would not get.
I will never ask my offspring if they want the newest console for their birthday or Christmas. But I’ll let them play with mine.

I generally finished my homework while still in school. No food allowed out of kitchen/dining room.We were not asked what we wanted as gifts and if we said we wanted something – one thing was sure, THAT was something we would not get.
