Alvin Bragg has vowed to reduce many crimes to misdemeanors: armed robbery, theft, assault, burglary, any type of drug offenses, etc. He truly believes that only murder and rape should be offenses requiring incarceration. Mr. Bragg has already put his prosecutorial staff on a short leash, demanding leniency on all criminal cases. This is a terrible message to send and will make NYC an even more dangerous place.
