Twisty. Solutions aren’t Ted’s thing… and I can see his point. His job is to tell us about the problem, not fix it.

I am more concerned about the undue influence of the Boomers and Silents - or is it their wealth or sense of entitlement - that gives them influence in government/society so much greater than their numbers. By now the Gen-X, Millennials, and Gen-Z should have much more influence based on their numbers, yet it is not apparent.

This feels like a corollary to Gallagher’s “anyone who drives slower than you do is a moron. Anyone who drives faster than you is a maniac.”

A long way to go to say both sides do it. Which they don’t, but why pay attention when you can jump on the rhetoric train.

BTW, Bernie voted for Hillary and Biden.

Why isnt there any middle-of-the -road candidates (w lots of common sense), that can tap into populism, while providing jobs, and reasonable levels of empathy? is it that hard?

And a generation later, the rw extremists are still talking about the liberal media. Funny how the NYT always makes room for the crazy right.

Capitol Rioter Broke Into The FBI, Lost His ID And Backpack, And Had An Armed Standoff With Police

Timothy Desjardins, a barber shop owner from Providence, R.I., stormed the Capitol on Jan. 6 with a crowd of fellow Trump supporters, the FBI said. He now faces numerous charges, including assaulting police officers and entering restricted grounds with a dangerous weapon.

Law enforcement officials say Desjardins can be seen in videos of the insurrection assaulting officers with a broken wooden table leg. The morning after the attack, an officer found a backpack Desjardins appeared to be wearing at the Capitol that contained three axes.

According to the FBI statement of facts unsealed Tuesday and reported by HuffPost’s Ryan Reilly, Desjardins appears in YouTube videos of the insurrection wielding “what appears to be a broken wooden table leg” that he used to “assault … multiple law enforcement officers” in a tunnel leading to a Capitol entrance as police were attempting to block rioters from entering.

LOL, odd how people who like alt-right “news sources” like Fox News can’t stand that the liberals have their own biased “news sources”…

It’s the “woke” insanity that will guarantee their loss to Republicans. Too many people are perfectly fine with an ever expanding military (including domestically) and economic rapine for that to bring them down. So they’ll get a right-wing “woke-ism”, along with the same militarism and uber-capitalism.

It’s the progressives who think they can suddenly change the whole world while shooting down every good or great plan because it’s not perfect.

Anyone ever hear of Grünenthal GmbH?

“Green Valley”. It’s cheerfully named and is an international pharm company founded and still owned by the Wirtz family. The founder, Wirtz Sr., did very well under the Nazis, and after the war hired quite a few allegedly-former Nazis including a biochemist who had created many new formulations, testing them in the camps, on Jews.

That biochemist also developed the well-known anti-nausea drug Thalidomide to which so many owe so much. It was such an earner for Wirtz that the company continued selling it (and still do sell it), steadfastly denied that it caused any problems, never admitted fault of any kind, and have never paid a Pfennig of the settlement negotiated to compensate the thousands of victims around the world and particularly Europe and Canada.

It has a US subsidiary. Given that it’s a criminal organisation riddled with Nazis (tho probably most are dead now) why was it allowed into the US?
