That may not be a good thing, some dementia patients are lucid right before the end. I was alone caring for MIL after my loving wife died suddenly in March and at the end she mostly knew little and then right at the end before she died in August there were moments. I know this is supposed to be funny but dementia is the “gift” that keeps on taking.
