Very few people get out of childhood without scars.
My life as an adult is much better than my childhood. Having alcoholic and abusive parents probably had something to do with that.
If by “get over them” you mean quit dwelling on an unpleasant past, think about what’s great in your life now. Hopefully you love your spouse and kids and find joy in that.
