Winning it all in the year they commemorate Hank Aaron seems fitting. It’s a nice change for a city that doesn’t have the most luck when it comes to sports.
Well, lookitthat. They actually >>won<< the World Series?? This, the team that had perfected the artform of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory???
I am shocked.
No, not really. I don’t follow sports, but my ex used to love watching the Atlanta team.
At first glance, I thought that the cap was a metaphor for what could happen if the Democrats and the Republicans got together and worked toward solving this country’s many problems.
Ah, yes, the Houston Cheaters were beaten by a team whose fans engage in one of the more racist fan behaviors in pro sport, the Tomahawk Chop.. .. Nice. Atlanta must be SO proud…
I haven’t followed MLB in going on 20 years or so, but I’m old enough to remember when the Braves were robbed of a game by the twins’ Kent Hrbek throwing Ron Gant off the bag and the umpire calling Gant out anyway. They were my team back then, but about four years ago they decided they were going to embrace their rich and racist fans and if I were still watching MLB I’d have switched teams over it.

They were once a Milwaukee team, and the Dodgers didn’t make it, so I’m good with this.

Not a bad way to make up for having the All-Star game stripped away.

I miss the days in which pitchers on the way to a no hitter, or a shutout, or a win for that matter, could finish what they started.

The names/logos of the Washington Redskins, Cleveland Indians are no more. Are the Atlanta Braves next?
