Sinema has become the hired gun for big pharma, fighting any and all measures to allow Medicare to negotiate better drug prices. She has been one of the bigger recipients of big pharma’s campaign contributions since she ran in ‘18 for Jeff Flake’s seat. But she has worn out her welcome with AZ Democrats and will a strong primary challenge if she runs for re-election in ’24.
Our political system is divisive rather the cooperative. No successful organization works with opposing goals and ignores well-meaning suggestions/proposals from others. The divided government theory has yielded negative outcomes for the electorate for decades … with engineered elections magnifying/exaggerating the power of a minority political party keen on obstructing progress/prosperity for the middle-class. The division is even more effective — if it can occur within a political party — via dissenters who [covertly] share the values of the obstructing minority, only revealing them well after being elected.
Sadly, this problem was created by the “Supreme” Court in the Citizens United case. This anti-democracy decision by a corrupt Court has allowed the wealthy to buy off politicians in an open and blatant manner.
If only real “people,” e.g. voters, were allowed to contribute to politicians (and only to their own representatives, not candidates out of their area,) we would see a sea change in priorities. Allowing nonvoting entities to finance politics has created a government of special interests and the will of the people be damned.

If it weren’t for the fact that the GQP are total obstructionists, those few Democrats wouldn’t hold such power.
