Not necessarily — it depends on which cartoon theory of ghost fashion you subscribe to. Casper the Friendly Ghost, and other spirits in his realm, apparently don’t display what they were wearing when they died. Jim Corrigan surely wasn’t wearing a green cape, hood and shorts when he died and became the DC Comics character, The Spectre (by comparison, though, Boston Brand, aka Deadman, also from DC Comics, did retain the makeup and costume he was wearing when he died). And many of the characters who were bumped off in classic Warner cartoons ascended to Heaven wearing a robe, wings and a halo (only to return to life in the next cartoon, of course). I guess a lot of it depends on what your creator has in mind for you in your afterlife.

Good then! If I have to spend all eternity in the one outfit, let’s at last make it comfy.
