I’m trying to figure out where they are, and what they are sitting on. (Their butts). To me they could just as easily be sitting on a bench at the bus station as the couch at home.

Wherever and whatever, if you scroll the comic up to where the dialog is not showing, the third panel looks like some sort of medical procedure. “Ok son, I’m the proctologist, mom’s the nurse, and you get to be the patient”.

Good choice! If you want something that’ll go through money faster than the chipper-shredder that is college tuition, it’s a boat.
