National Cheeseburger Day. We’re no getting cheeseburgers, but we’re getting sub sandwiches in our break room today. It’s for Associate Appreciation Days (yesterday, we got a catered Mexican meal which did not appeal to me)

This was so unexpected. I just can’t believe it. But when I got home from work tonight (Friday Sept 17)). I found Heathcliff dead on my kitchen floor. He was 16 years old. He didn’t show signs of being sick. He ate his nightly canned cat food with his usual gusto on Thursday night (the cats get a little canned food every night before I go to bed). He was acting normal. Then suddenly, he’s just dead. Heathcliff was a throw away cat. I found him hanging around my garage as a kitten, 16 years ago. It took days for me to catch this frightened, timid kitten. I used another one of my cats to lure him close enough to me for me to grab him. I was using one of those fishing pole type toys to play with one of my other cats and Heathcliff finally started to play with it. Once he got close, I grabbed him, fully prepared to have him bite and claw me to pieces to escape. But I came out unscathed – he didn’t fight me. He remained always fearful of strangers and was even scared of being outside because of the noise from traffic and things. But he was a dear, sweet cat. I’m happy I had him for these 16 years, but I am going to miss him sooooo much!

Chesney, with friends like you, who needs enemies?

I was kinda surprised he didn’t hand over Lily at once.

Annie could make a lot more money with a sign that reads, “Hear the talking Cat $1, hear the talking Cat shut up $5!”

Hey Chesney, if you want to help, just keep your mouth shut! (Sorry if that sounds mean.) On another note, saw three sparrows, a dragonfly, and a chickadee while out walking today.
