I understand that, regardless of his putative party affiliation, Manchin has to vote with the Repugnicans. What I don’t understand is why he hasn’t made his actual affiliation public.

McConnell gushes over Manchin and Sinema holding up spending package: ‘I pray for them — we give them lots of love!’

They are helping the republicans to destroy the USA.

Mancin’s constituents are in WV, not DC or at the DNC. He’s doing what his voters want him to do. That’s how you get re-elected, which is what really matters.

Liberals never complain about Sinema doing the same thing. It’s because they think women should be seen and not heard.

People have been complaining about Sinema in this very page where someone gripes that nobody’s talking about her. Check the times: Those comments were already up when our premium member complained that nobody was talking about her.

I think my “favorite” part was when Joe Biden called climate change an “existential threat” in December 2020, then negotiated himself out of completely transforming the United States economy away from fossil fuels in order to get the magic bipartisanship seal of approval on his infrastructure plan. Climate change is an existential threat again now that Biden surveyed the damage from Ida, so I look forward to even yet still more climate-focused legislation failing to make it out of committee, much less come before the president to sign.

The “utter devastation” has long been in the US’s 19th century political system. THAT’S an infrastructure that really needs to be repaired.

Living in the Twin Cities, MN, seeing the interstate sign brings to mind the 35W bridge collapse.
