What a depressing thought.

this is yet another of auntie’s peculiar aphorisms that at first seem to make sense, but on further reflection you realize that it’s just witless nonsense…

It is a lot easier to live in a fantasy world where things are not true if you don’t like them and that if things are not going your way, it must be somebody else’s fault.

It’s a lot easier, but a lot more miserable existence. You are ALWAYS a victim, never a victor. You must derive your self-esteem by association with an echo chamber of like-minded people. In other words, other people control what you think about things and how you feel about yourself.

If you are not master of yourself, someone else will be.

Imagine an existence where your entire universe does not extend beyond your own skin. It’s lonely in there.

Aunty, you do realize that many of the youngsters today won’t understand the reference to getting up to change a channel don’t you? LOL!!
