Good luck with that. Finding terrorists is always a problem since they live underground.

After 9/11, I often thot that George W. Bush had stumbled on the right advice (probably by accident) when he said we should all just go about our normal lives and show that the asshole bombers hadn’t fazed us. We could ignore them, instead of giving them the worldwide platform they so obviously faunched after. But then, of course, Cheney started whispering in his ear, and we ended up with not one but two multi-trillion-dollar wars against the wrong enemies. Suppose we’d actually followed his initial advice. Wouldn’t we be a lot better off today? Couldn’t we actually try it this time?

It isn’t “nation building”; it’s “imperialism”, pure and simple. Republicans want an American Empire, just like the British Empire of the 19th century.

Well, guess what, Repukes—the sun has set on the British Empire, and will never rise on an American Empire!
