My cats would unravel a ball of yarn and tie up the furniture in the living room and dining room. I laughed, rewound the ball and gave it back. A neighbor stopped by and said that wasn’t a good idea, and made it so the cats couldn’t unwind the ball and have fun. They never touched the ball again. That was a bummer. I even undid her “fix”, but it was too late. Don’t look Ethel!
Of all the dogs in my life, there have been many and different breeds if you count grandparents and cousins, none have shown any interest in balls of yarn, even those that were masters of playing fetch. Now anything resembling a frisbee would drive one particular Labrador out of his gifted yellow mind, so we had to hide them in the house or secret them in transit until we were ready to play. Hiding places had to be well out of his reach or where he could not manage to open cabinets. That was my ADHA, but gifted intellect beast. In my world of education, a student with his traits is “twice exceptional” (2e). He also understood the word frisbee and figured out the different euphemisms my sons came up with to try to trick him so he would not freak out.
