I was out with my daughter one fine afternoon and came across a building with over 50 flags along one side. As a geo quiz, we started naming the countries. She did a good job, naming around half, while I missed on a handful (I do a lot of geo trivia). We were puzzled by the flags, why only roughly a quarter of all countries, why a few Asian countries along with most European countries, and Canada & the USA… so what was this organisation?
The OSCE. Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe.
Ah, thanks to smartphones, Google to our rescue. 57 countries signed up, including the USA.
Amongst other things, turns out they also send out Election Monitors or Observers. Did you know that the USA is obligated to invite International observers since 1990? But only since 2002 have election monitors been sent to the USA.
Hmm. I remember ‘hanging chads’ being a thing in one election back in 2000.
Anyway, a long ramble to suggest more International Observers for Texas?
How dare those voters! Thinking they can put a “Patriot Republican” like Trump out of office just by putting marks on a piece of paper. What hubris!! Putting him in office by doing the same thing back in 2016 was ok, though.
I believe the “men who fought and died” to which the player refers were Confederates, fighting to deny rights and indeed humanity to a substantial portion of the population. So she’s right, and the current government of Texas continues the tradition.
Unless you are a Qpublican… then you can get your ballots mailed to you and fill them out at your leisure and drop them in the mail… at least that’s what he’s ULTIMATELY going for…
Trumpettes have our governor running scared; he’s pushing so far to the right he keeps falling over. His real fear is that Matthew McConaughey will decide to run next year, because the polls show Abbott would lose bigly.
It’s clear that Danziger has never seen a Texan much less been to the Great state of Texas in his life! Just like that idiot Ted Cruz, Abbott is a piss poor representation of Texas!

If you can’t win them over with good policy, vision, and ethics, keep them from being able to vote for the other person.

I used to say that we should only let Texas secede when they learned how to spell the word. Now I have removed that requirement.
