Obviously the droplets in one runner’s labored exhalations remain suspended in the air long enough to be quickly run through and breathed in by runners behind. And isn’t this true to some degree when people merely walk together in crowds? It would be instructive if our exhalations and inhalations were visible small clouds that could be seen as shared by ourselves and people around us.
