Someone seems to believe that teachers vacations are as long as the kids vacations. Miss Wingit has been off to work for weeks, planning the semester. It’s just that it’s much more quiet without the kids.

I realized this in about the 5th or 6th grade. When I happened on my (gasp) teacher (and her spouse) at the Dairy Queen, talking about how ready she wasn’t.

Wonder how much of her own money she had to spend for the supplies.

I don’t know why all the cartoon kids hate going back to school.

We loved school.

Maybe never aging and repeating the same year over and over and over is what they dont like?

But like in Ground Hog day they could learn from their mistakes.

I think she has covid.

Yeah. That’s it. She missed you. Just go with that…..

Holly expressed it all perfectly in panel 4 ~ lazy mornings, shorts, flip-flops. Just reading that brought up 60 year-old memories and visions of all those wonderful bygone Summers.

I liked both being in school and having the summer off. Of course, now I enjoy having the whole year off even more!

Too funny today. Our schools have started last month, and the teacher’s was very excited to get back, they started bring supplies inside and back to work the following Monday, as school started middle of August on a Thursday.

Slightly off topic, but “Ms. Wingit” is up there with “Miss Krabopple (Crabapple)” from the Simpsons for best cartoon teacher name.
