Some years ago I came home from work to find my answering machine (remember those?) talking to a robocaller. They then each hung up and all I could think to say was “I don’t care what you just bought but if the charge shows up on my credit card you are so out of here.” My wife laughed hysterically as she overheard me but I was serious, I would have round-filed his ass.
I must be getting old: I remember having to use a cradle modem to dial into the local main frame before there was an Internet. We had to do that with ARPANET, and it was a long distance call to hit the closest node which was Ft.Bragg, NC.
