Sure wish people around our state would take notice. Even Asa realizes someone was very wrong about Covid.

All those that intend to get vaccinated just about have. Now we wait and see what develops, or infects, as it were.

The newest American heroes are the doctors/nurses — risking their own safety — fighting rather than denying the pandemic.

House GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy asks why Democrats aren’t holding hearings on “COVID-19 deaths instead of the Jan. 6 insurrection”

They should do both, because the same person is responsible for both the Covid-19 deaths and the insurrection. And no, it isn’t Hillary.

The vaccination rate in the US peaked at 3 million doses a day in April, and has dropped to around 1 million a day. The projected time to reaching 75% has been increasing, as it is clear that there is a substantial number (25-30%) of the populace who intend to never get it.

When are we going to grow some cajones and apply the tools we have available to get through to them. I understand that ultimately a person has the right to make decisions about their body, but why should our insurance system continue to carry them without reflecting the risk they are taking? If you smoke you pay higher insurance rates. Want to risk death or disability? Pay for it in your insurance. And where the government is the insurer they should simply pull their coverage.

And before people bring this up, the small set of people with compromised immune systems who should not get it should be exempted. I have a sister in law with Lupus, and I would expect she should not, for example.

Then there is the issue of the risk those people pass on to others. That is where society should have the right to know that you are a refusenik. Everywhere I go no-one is wearing a mask, and statistically > 30% are not vaccinated. I should have the ability to know who they are so I can steer my child or grandson who is not yet eligible well clear of them. Alas, the tool for this one is not that easy. I guess branding is out…

I hope this medic is going to vax herself as a large portion of front liners in hospitals are among the anti-vaxxers.

we owe them a lot for all the good that they have done thru this last 18 months. Honor them by being vaccinated so that they can enjoy the holidays with their families too.

Well, partial independence for those who are fully vaccinated… and with so many unvaccinated, I still take precautions even for people who refuse to do the same for me.

Thank you to all those first responders, health workers, doctors, administrators, and all the heroes who worked to save lives during the pandemic, including those giving the jabs, so we could celebrate this July 4th! THANK YOU!

The number of children contracting COVID-19 in the U.S. is much lower than the record highs set at the start of the new year, but children now account for more than a fifth of new coronavirus cases in states that release data by age, according to the American Academy of Pediatrics. It’s a statistic that may surprise many: Just one year ago, child COVID-19 cases made up only around 3% of the U.S. total.

On Monday, the AAP said children represented 22.4% of new cases reported in the past week, accounting for 71,649 out of 319,601 cases. The latest report, drawn from data collected through April 29, illustrates how children’s share of coronavirus infections has grown in recent weeks.

It’s also worth noting that for the vast majority of the pandemic, the age group with the highest case rates has been 18 to 24 in the U.S., as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention notes.
