Maybe college coaching salaries (etc) should be mandated to be more closely in line with high school coaching salaries. You know, because we all love the amateur aspect.
Let’s face it, Universities are sports team owners that use the education scam as a cash cow and fake front to keep most of the money they make off the games. The coaches make more than all the profs put together.
Corporate greed trumps common sense repeatedly and those who “dip their beaks” are all too ready, willing, and able to grease the skids for their venal and mendacious masters.
Athletes on scholarship are already professionals. I think we all know how much tuition costs and how many years normal students go into debt to pay for it. So on top of free admission the athletes need further compensation???
The coin loss in the NFL determines if the winner of the coin toss will chose to kick or receive. Now the NCAA determines which team gets to keep the Buffalo Nickel.

Maybe school sports profits should go to pay for tuition (and not just for athletes).

Yeah. They really should realize that those athletes could mop the floor with them, without even getting into uniform or breaking a sweat.

re: Emmett – try $4M. Also, only a handful of schools don’t lose money on football, which puts paid to the “it supports minor sports” canard.

Seems fair enough.. but then make them pay for their education as well. No more scholarships for athletic talent.

Considering injuries to the body and brain it may never be enough.
