GROG Again you present the cream of culinary perfection. Unfortunately, I can’t partake of your kitchen miracles as my belt this morning was 1/2 a micrometer short. Fall is coming.

This past Sunday in Best Buy’s add they had lap tops big discount. We went to see about one but was way too late they sold out in 10 mins and people where still coming to buy one, lay a-way sold out. Have to pay more for the lap top to be mailed to us. Also getting professional software Best Buy and Office Max has it for $500 getting off ebay a little over $100. Appears there are some people that want to sell. This way I won’t have main computer tied up as I get deeper in Jr. Col.

By the way, jarlyddie, you usually have to be up pretty early to post breakfast. I think most people here don’t keep those kind of hours. There may be a few who, even though they’re up, may not want to be the first post.

As it so happens, after about a 2 hour-long sleep I was wide awake at mid-night and decided to read some toons.

The number of # you do determines the size of your text. You can also experment with adding the *. The # have to be at the beginning of the line.

#Beer Is Blechy! ##Beer Is Blechy! ###Beer Is Blechy! ####Beer Is Blechy! #####Beer Is Blechy!

This is what you get for: Beer Is **Blechy!** A very important phrase.

jarlyddie - Some people work days and check comments from there once and awhile. Others work nights and sleep during the day. Some take care of family things and get on as they can. With school starting some scheduals for people havw changed. I am here during late morning through the evening checking comments as I can. You’ll get used to different peoples scheduals as time goes by. Sometimes it’s busy, sometimes slow, but you’ll get to know people as time goes by. Anything can happen here but you never know when!

jarlyddie - Greenwich, England is the home of Greenwich Mean Time. GMT is World Time and the basis of every world time zone which sets the time of day and is at the centre of the time zone map. GMT sets current time or official time around the globe. Most time changes are measured by GMT. Although GMT has been replaced by atomic time (UTC) it is still widely regarded as the correct time for every international time zone.

    It is currently 8:33pm GMT…

Setting time to the nearest hour (i.e. time zones) was developed by the railroads to make their schedule eaiser. Until then every place went by their local time giving each town it’s own time. Very confussing for fast travel!

From what I was just researching, it was originally suggested by Franklin, but the promotion was by a Brit named Wallett. And even then, it was the other side in WWI that first changed times, and the US and Brittan followed their lead.

Thanks again Sojo - I also like learning neat little factoids like this.

Grog- I don’t mind getting to work early and having more daylight when you get home but wish companies started earlier durning summer than changing the time. Here real time is about 30 min. before actual time. Most companies here start at 7:00 a.m. but with overtime start at 6:00 a.m. If you get up 90 min. before going to work then with OT and DST you’re actual having to get up at 3:00 a.m. to go to work first shift! Not good for most peoples health.

Wolfie - A place called “Tavern on the Plaza”, even though we don’t drink. (They do have an extensive wine, etc. list for those who do.) But they have an excellent sirloin steak for around $15, including a couple side dishes. Chicken fried steak, hamburger, and I forget what all else, but it is all good that we’ve had. The atmosphere is fantastic. They took an old menswear store and refurbished it. High, metal ceilings, wood paneling, pretty elegant, but not outrageous prices and good food. Here’s their website, but it doesn’t give much information.

Luv - Red pepper sounds good. A good crockpot stew needs to cook on low for 8-10 hours. This will be excellent tomorrow night, and still great on Friday.

It Wasn’t Me - It’s taking a while to set up my laptop for several reasons. I am able to use updates for software I wasn’t able to use on my other computers because they were too old. I am having to learn Windows 7, other program updates that are completly diferent, etc. Being able to have more than 2 programs on at the same time I am selecting utilities to use (having to find and learn them). Hook it up to my wireless network and get my printer, scanner, external drives to work wirelessly (finding and updating software for my scanner to work on Windows 7 which the manufacture doesn’t support, etc). I have switched my on-line back-up software to this computer (I think Monday night?) and may take until Friday for it to finish it’s first back-up and am leaving the computer on until that is done (after that will little time needed to keep it updated and it works ib the background). Transfering all my data and e-mails from other computers to this, etc.,etc., etc. I also need to upgrade my router, the hard drive and memory when I can. It is just taking a while for me to set it up! Have loaded some old programs I have that won’t work and had to remove them, etc.

Too bad I won’t get to see any of you at State fair here in KS since you all live far away. You won’t get to see me work hard. Our mom will be there as sis and bro/i/l wanted to get her outa house. And during fair time weather sometimes breaks loose.

It’s okay to not always get things right. If you don’t want to have a football team, it is okay.

    Hi! Little Sister!

How iz school? Do you want to help develop a small, pressure sensitive, edible bomb? Maybe* Sister Kab* has some good ideas.

They have to be the first thingn on the line. So start a new line. And there aren’t any at the end of a line. I still practice these things on old strips sometimes. I copy it before I hit enter. When it is right I can just paste it where I want.

It could work. As long as we make the bomb itself short enough. We could put the soda in an edible container with the mentos on top. Break the top of the container, the mentos go into the pop. Do any of you know what it will taste like?
