The “India” variant is apparently ~300 times more easily transmitted, and EVEN THE vaccines only give you 60% better protection than nothing. (Note that this is still much better than the usual run of flu shots… but then the flu isn’t as bad a killer either). And there’s almost no advantage at all if you’ve only gotten the first of two jabs.

Of course everyone will now want their jabs ASAP, since we’ve already seen that variant here in the USA. (sigh, yeah, sarcasm for this paragraph)

There really is this selfish streak running through us.

I don’t care. I’m glad I got fully vaccinated as soon as I could. :)

America, land of the free to be stupid.

There WILL be another spike. A lot of people will have time to regret.

We are not alone in this..

My first indication that the point of resistance would be very low was watching the rate in Israel. It’s flatlined at just under 60%, and been there for > 2 months. My hope was that we would do that at about 80%, but clearly we will not make it there, even with age 12 and greater eligible.

Fox News is the worst offender- they are still trying to downplay the severity of Covid and discouraging vaccines. They are also trying to discredit Dr. Fauci so no one will follow his advice.

Apparently, he needs a better reason.

I was so thrilled when I was vaccinated I can’t imagine needing an incentive.
