The more the entire global population is vaccinated, the less likely Covid variants will evolve to defeat the medication. Not to mention the humanity of sparing others sickness and death. Bok has no concept of science, human decency, or compassion, not surprising, but if he can get a xenophobic/racist jab in there, he’s all in.
“Foreigners” – do you mean jobs that factory owners exported to other nations to take advantage of exploitive wages, minimal tax rates, and neglient safety and environmental standards? Or do you mean immigrants to the U.S. who will take agricultural and less desireable but necessary jobs which also feature exploitive wages?
Seems like a win-win to me. Americans can stay unemployed but safe from catching COVID from all those nasty workers. I, for one.. appreciate that my lettuce was picked by a vaccinated person.. I can wash off the potential pee but COVID.. I can’t be sure.
The USA is among a handful of developed nations who have the highest percentage of the population vaccinated. Most of Western Europe and East Asia lag behind us. We should be grateful to have a president who takes the role of leadership seriously.
Maybe take our anti-vaxers with them when they’re told to ‘go back where they came from’ ? We’ll even throw in a twice impeached President free of charge. I’ve “heard” he’s looking for “immunity” from being charged with criminal activity.
Imagine (nod to John Lennon) if the U.S. had invested even a fraction of the money spent on wars to support the Peace Corps and other humanitarian projects. Removing the pandemic response teams in other countries, cutting aid to those in need while increasing military funds going to Israel, staging a CIA coup in Iran in 1953 which led to increased unrest and the hostage situation in 1979 were all incredibly short-sighted.
The “crisis” at the southern border has its roots in actions from the U.S.
Ummm yeah. Just shows you an immigrant has more common sense than a third of actual Americans. The immigrant will get vaccinated then go work the service jobs of desperate employers at low pay while vaccinated Americans will say “good for them but we still want jobs with a living wage”.
Look, if you’re dumb enough to not take the jab, that’s your concern, but don’t begrudge giving it to those who will take it. After all, we are all people, aren’t we. Or are we divided by political tribalism, xenophobia and distrust of any one/thing that isn’t like you, or speaks with a foreign accent?

I have a feeling that Bok would like for this to be some kind of “being liberal is bad” statement, but I sure can’t see how.

So what’s the problem, Baghdad Bok? Are we supposed to waste the vaccines rather than use them?

Actually, as we’re all in this virus together, that’s not such a bad idea.

They should be used by someone. If the Americans are too ignorant to take them.

Some Americans don’t want the jobs or vaccines, but they also don’t want anybody else to have either of them too…
