This isn’t a religious war, this is an ethnic war complicated by the leadership of both factions caring not a bit about their respective people but wanting to hold on the the positions of power. That goes for both the Hamas and Likud leaders. They are using each other to maintain dominance in their respective political units.

When Hamas quits shooting, Israel will stop shooting back. If Israel stops shooting, Hamas will not stop shooting.
