Hugs and air-kisses don’t really need to return – do they?
Oh, I’ll remember alright. Over the past year I even snuck a few surreptitious hugs with trusted friends.
Too bad she’s a covid carrier.

That depends. Are they cohabitating?
Back in March I had one of my sister-in-laws surprise me with a hug. I didn’t know how to do that safely so it probably looked a bit odd. She went around doing it to others in the family too.
