You should have told him to just wear his judge’s robe. That way, nobody would see that he wasn’t wearing a tie.

If he wants to wear THAT tie, then tell him to change his shirt. That will confuse the heck out of him :-)
I wear aloha shirts. The only ties I need are blue, green or white.
I’ve never known too many suit-and-tie types, but I’ve heard that a white shirt goes with any suit, and any tie, too!
Be aware that this advice is coming from someone who wears jeans and tshirts almost exclusively.
:) My father is color-blind, so CONSTANTLY asks what goes with what.
