National Garden Meditation Day, annually on May 3rd, encourages everyone to take time for one’s self and relax.Working in the garden, tending to the plants and flowers, or resting quietly on a bench on a beautiful day in the garden are forms of meditation. Both can be restorative to the soul and a refreshing way to be out in nature. It’s my day off, but I hope to tend some plants and plant some flower seeds today.

National Specially-abled Pets Day shines a spotlight on the needs of pets with disabilities.This day is set aside to educate the public about caring for disabled pets. The day features disabled animals looking for a home. It also encourages animal lovers to consider choosing a disabled pet when they are looking at adopting a new pet family member.

Keep up the good work, Lily. (Well, good for cats, anyway.) On another note, saw a raven, a towhee, two damselflies, two rabbits, and two sparrows while out walking today. Yesterday was my Sister’s Birthday. The family got together and celebrated with pizza and eclairs. (She doesn’t really care for birthday cake.)
