The issue is actually the percentage of the WORLD that’s been vaccinated, not just in one or another nation, because those variants don’t care WHERE in the world they got a chance to mutate into something that’s even harder to beat.

Millions of Americans refuse to be vaccinated. “It is against their religion”, “it will change my DNA”, “the virus is fake”, etc. No cure for stupid.

You’re missing a role, here, the idiots not wanting to get the vaccines.

But Trump deserves all the credit for developing a vaccine for a disease that doesn’t exist.

A note of hope: A new vaccine is in development that shows impressive results in animal models and is starting in Phase 1 clinical trials. This vaccine is engineered to produce a modified spike protein that cannot unfold to infect human cells but can elicit a strong immune response. The vector that is used is similar to that used for flu vaccines made in chicken eggs with the added benefit that it has about a 10-fold higher titer than the flu vaccines (more per egg). Since factories that produce flu vaccines are common through out the world, this candidate vaccine may put the world in a better position with respect to vaccine availability.

If only science could be truly productive and mutate/manipulate the virus to go after the ones refusing to be vaccinated.

For the Billy Badasses whom think they don’t need there shots…sign a form releasing yourself from responsibility. Give extra doses to poorer countries. BUT, when Mom, Dad or Sis get sick, your name goes to the back of the list, behind those in Botswana. THEN we’ll see how bad you REALLY are!

Vaccinations are only the first part. Continued immunity will require booster shots every year, like the ’flu shot.

The republicans expect you to pay for the health care you need if you contract the covid they spread. Republicans have made the USA into a failed state.
