Actually, Delta did not come out and complain directly about the voter ID provisions. It complained that the voting changes were based upon a lie (“widespread voter fraud in Georgia”) and it complained about restricted voting rights. It supported the expanded weekend voting.

As far as the requirement to show ID before boarding a plane, that is a TSA rule. And it applies to all airlines flying in the U.S. – not just Delta.

Stupid Henry Payne continues to not get it in the most idiotic ways possible (and draw ridiculous-looking vehicles while doing it).

I suppose Payne approves of this gem:

    https://www.snopes.com/ap/2021/04/02/explainer-what-does-georgias-new-gop-election-law-do/

“Much of the work administering elections in Georgia is handled by the state’s 159 counties. The law gives the State Election Board new powers to intervene in county election offices and to remove and replace local election officials. That has led to concerns that the Republican-controlled state board could exert more influence over the administration of elections, including the certification of county results.

One target for intervention could be Fulton County, a Democratic stronghold that contains most of Atlanta. The heavily populated county has been plagued by problems, including long lines, and it is often singled out by Republican officials. Under the law, the board could intervene in up to four counties at a time and install a temporary superintendent with the ability to hire and fire personnel including elections directors and poll officers."

    And this one:

“The new law makes it a misdemeanor to hand out “any money or gifts, including, but not limited to, food and drink” to anyone standing in line to vote. The prohibition extends 150 feet from a polling place and 25 feet from any person standing in line.”

    Henry doesn’t mention those.

Payne, comparing apples to his imagination since about 1982.

I did a quick search and found that, besides political cartoons, he hosts Car Radio and does automotive reporting. Certainly explains his preference for ’tooning things w/ wheels.

Just like Payne’s comics, that plane will never get off the ground.

And, of course, Delta requiring people to pay for tickets is just as bad as the now-illegal poll tax! Right, Henry?

I am just curious as I never see anything but flaming Payne in the comments but if you all despise him so much, why do you read his editorials? It really does not make sense and is frankly quite annoying.

Sit back, relax, smoke your dope and do something that you enjoy. You will live longer from the lack of stress than you will from your organic foods and quit listening to Snopes. They are more inaccurate than you think.

    Peace out.

What does making it a crime to give food and water to people standing in line for hours to vote have to do with voter I.D. laws?

It is easy to justify ID laws. How do you justify counties (coincidentally Democrat leaning) with few polling places and therefore lines where citizens have to wait 6-8 hours to vote. And how do you justify the law that was passed making it against the law to give someone standing in line food or water? Of course, if there were adequate numbers of voting places there would be no need for citizens to bring 8 hours of food and water to vote? Unless the law includes a reasonable number of polling places making it possible for citizens to vote in a reasonable amount of time, there will be no need for them to need to take a days worth of supplies to vote.
