I was the Windows hacker back in the day, and still do a fair amount of programming, but technology has really taken off. My son is a network guy and now helps me out with this stuff.
Knew a guy who called himself an “ethical hacker”. His job was to “test” the computer security systems at the University that employed him, but he would also “ethically hack” other things (including people’s private accounts) per his own prerogative… people didn’t appreciate it… he got all self-righteous and eventually got a job someplace else… now he’s doing it in a corporate setting, with approval of its upper management.
