    Another tribute to Republicans*.

Sabotage the Post Office, because why not?

Would be nice to see DeJoy indicted with felony obstruction of the mail and destruction of federal property as a start.

The Postal Service is in trouble — but it is almost exclusively at the hands of Republicans who have been trying to undermine it for decades. They want to do away with it altogether in favor of more corporate overlords. Get rid of DeJoy. Then get rid of some of the ridiculous fetters that keep it from running more efficiently and as a better service for the country. Let it do banking again. Let it be the public internet provider. There are many services postal services around the world provide that ours are kept from — and we need them.

Thanks “NoJoy”, you’ve single-handedly just about destroyed the postal service.

The repugnants’ have been at it for years; the Qreep DeJoy’s sabotage work is more recent, but the USPS is still doing a great job. I wouldn’t do that job (carrier) for all the tea in China. And it doesn’t look good re voting the vermin out. We have another Democrat traitor (Ron Bloom) the board of directors’ chairman, who’s happy with DeJoy and opposes his removal. https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/bidens-usps-board-nominees-oust-embattled-postmaster-dejoy/story?id=77217311

Like the privatization of prisons and the educational system has been working out so well, let’s add mail service to the list. Higher costs, less provided services in return, more profits for the corporations: it’s the GQP mantra.

This isn’t merely privatization; it is the transfer of wealth from the American public to private individuals. This is how the Russian oligarchs, like Putin, gained obscene wealth and power after the collapse of the Soviet Union. America is being hollowed out by the Republicans.

What we are experiancing is a taste of the feeling the Native Americans havd with the loss of their lands. We’re just too stupid to understand what is happening.

Upside down flag = a signal of dire distress. Save the U.S. postal service!

I am buying pretty much everything but groceries and stuff too big to ship online these days. Started as a covid thing, then kept doing it because it’s so easy, and doesn’t cost any more than going to town. If a lot of people are doing more of that, we need more post office than we needed when we just mailed bills and a few letters.

Oh, stop worrying. Jeff Bezos is going to “buy out” the USPS and turn it into a money making enterprise! Just read "Terry Pratchett’s “Going Postal”" to see how Jeff will do it.

I’ve read about a concept called postal banks, perhaps this is something they could take on.

What is funny (in the sarcastic sense) is if the Post Office is privatized people in Democratic cities will still be able to get mail-UPS likely could make a profit delivering mail from Boston to Austin, they likely would not be willing to deliver a letter from small town Republican Dog Tail, West Virginia to Little Bear, Wyoming.

A number of years ago, a time when forever flag stamps were sold in rolls of 100, which I would load into my little handheld dispenser. One day there was a knock at the door. I opened it and was greeted by an anxious looking postman. He whispered something to me which I didn’t understand, he repeated it with the same result. I thought maybe he was ill or something, so I stepped down from the stoop to the ground, and asked him to speak up. He asked if I was OK, to which I said, “Yes, what’s wrong? Are you OK?” It turned out that he was concerned because the stamps I applied to the several posted letters were upside down, and he thought I was signaling to him that I was in trouble. (The way the stamps were rolled, it turned out, made them dispense in such a way that it was easier to apply them to envelopes inverted rather than turning them upright first.) I told him I was fine, and how it was that the stamps were inverted, and thanked him for his concern. I always unrolled a new stamp roll and loaded it into the dispenser tail first after that episode.

Jeez, I don’t believe that none of you twigged on the story that the USPS is spying and collecting information on citizens for the government.
