In my state (which is a lot more lily-white than many), they’re putting a lot of effort into reaching folks who have a history of getting less medical assistance than the rest of us. And pushing PR messages into those communities about the efficacy and safety…
In Texas, my doctor works at a clinic in an adjacent county that has clinics and hospitals all over. I was just notified that their supply of vaccines is exhausted and they don’t know when they can get more. The main suppliers in the town where I live has been most pharmacies, including HEB and Brookshires grocery chain pharmacies. But they only got one round and administered it to the 1a group. The county health department finally announced that they would be administering shots. A friend who has a disabled son, got him on the county list. A week or so later she got a call with an appointment. She had to drive 50-60 miles to a neighboring county and wait 6 hours. I don’t know anyone except one nephew. who is getting a shot. My nephew said a joke at his university is to tell Republicans that the shot makes you an Atheist and Democrat.
In my area “Colored” includes Hispanic. There’s a definite disparity in availability that appears to be keyed to demographics. My town is 80% Latino and is low on the supply chain for vaccine supplies.

Unfortunately. And the same could be said for voting.

I’m white and I cannot get a vaccine. Racism is not funny.

I am concerned that in general, some minorities are refusing the vaccination, There is, you know, some history behind this decision,

While this may indeed be true, the data is lacking because not enough demographic info is being collected.

In a perfect world it’d be much different. Many things would be much different.

Racism explains that distribution but the white one gets divided as well with a larger share going to those with connections.

I live in a very diverse community. Just got back from getting my 1st shot. The turn-out today mirrored the diversity of this city.

There is no racism when booking an appointment for a vaccination.

Oof! Nice conflation of a modern idea with a past political theme.

Oof! Nice conflation of a current theme with a past (hopefully) political theme.

And a smaller vial marked ‘third world’ should be there, or maybe colored is them?
