In many parts of the country, including mine(Ahem), this is not far from the truth. Deer strikes is a serious problem and one should not drive at night in a car smaller than say a Camry. Pickup trucks with brush guards preferred. I would refer you to the Mythbusters episode on hitting a Moose with a car for a worst case scenario. Short answer: the full 600+ pounds of moose comes through your windshield.

There was a large Ford pickup in my counti that had X-ed-out deer heads on its doors, a la fighter pilots’ planes. :-)
