Caught my first “outdated cultural depictions,” movie this morning, “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid” (1969). Guess “Raindrops Keep Failing” or Sam Elliot’s first role was the reason!
Of all the STOOPID things the GOP has done, this ranks right up there. What an absolutely ridiculous way to spend energy with all that knee jerking -but of course, anything else would require actual thinking.
It’s definitely NOT a dark liberal conspiracy, but it is ridiculous to ban or try to change books that were written ages ago, just to suit modern sensitives. If you don’t like them don’t read them. On the big spud controversy, if you don’t care for the new set of toys don’t buy them, the old ones are still available. The market will decide if there is demand for the new set.
And now the burning question of transgender athletes.
Query: How many transgendered girls have actually gone out for sports in Mississippi high schools and colleges? Answer: none.
And as for the “superior strength” of males, doesn’t that somehow depend on testosterone? You know, those dangly bits? And just how much testosterone does a fully-transitioned transgender girl have?
Democrats, with a straightforward, tangible relief package, have rather easily neutered Republicans politically. Hence the obsession with Potato Head and Dr. Seuss. That and they are busy trying to do voter suppression. It would do well to pass the HR1 bill in the senate.
