Rita, Rita, you should be well aware by now. If it was “Fun!”, it would not be called “Work!”.

If actions are louder than words, why can’t we hear mimes?

I always have trouble taking in comics that are mostly or fully wordless. Both old and new — so I include “The Little King” and “Buni” for instance. What I mean is just I can’t “take it in” and see the story (and the joke). But what helps is if I look at it panel by panel, or section or detail by section, and narrate aloud what is going on. “Now he is summoning some servants. They bring in a carrier platform. Okay, now..” And that helps.

So for me the joke here is that she is almost giving the employees at this meeting that kind of help. (Leaving aside that it’s interesting what business point the Rube Goldberg comic is supposed to be making for them.) Providing a narrator to work thru it would be great …. unfortunately the narrator is unhelpfully doing it in mime!
