The best conservative magic trick is to be able to simultaneously complain about wanting schools to open, while also complaining about how it’s not safe for schools to open.

The teachers unions are keeping the schools from opening. I’m pro union, but this is ridiculous. The school district that my kids are in, voted unanimously to go to 4 days weeks starting March 8th. I’ve got my fingers crossed that this will happen.

Wrong labels, little mikey. Change Biden Administration to Republican governors insisting that people not mask up and teacher’s unions to the general public. Then you will have the correct picture of policy in parts of America.

Right wingers have an actually measurable problem with science: They really NEED things to STAY THE SAME, and scientists insist on actually looking at new data and making recommendations based on CURRENT data.

There are three conditions essential for school buildings to reopen: 1) Low infection rates and adequate testing in any region where in-school learning is being considered; 2) Public health safeguard to help prevent the spread of the virus in school, including masks and social distancing, cleaning and ventilation, handwashing, and reasonable accommodations for those at risk; and 3) The necessary resources to enact each and every one of these safeguards, as well as to provide the supports required to meet kids’ academic, social and emotional needs. Because states have been so badly hit, federal resources are absolutely essential. Now, with 500,00 dead, the infection rate isn’t yet falling. In many states, Governors and politicians disdain social distancing measures and mask wearing. And I don’t see a flurry of activity to reduce class sizes in an effort to reduce infection and increase social distancing.

Remember in 1956 when republicans loved unions? Now they hate them.

Republicans hate working Americans, they only support rich people who kick money back to them for reelection.

Many large corporations were dismayed by the republican attack on the Capitol and have stopped funding many republicans.

What does this crappy toon mean? It’s witch doctor crazy to worry about a deadly virus? Biden or the CDC are shamans? We should open schools without vaccinating the adults who work there? We shouldn’t? Is someone being sacrificed? I hope it’s Ramirez. Such a bore.

Please. Just an excuse to bash unions. Yawn. Teachers may have 20 plus kids in a class. If 5 of them have the virus, because of their age, they may have zero symptoms. But if one 50 year old teacher gets the virus he/she could die. Vaccinate teachers first.

Unfortunately the T. Unions are totally losing support nation wide. Parochial schools have been open since September with very few problems, and still the unions dig in and refuse.

What kind of stupidity has Mike come up with now? Henry Payne stupid with more intricate artwork. Biden want’s schools to open safely and teachers don’t want to die for their profession.

Look folks, most of the organizations you call teachers unions are NOT.

Unless you have a collectively bargained contract you are not in a union. The VAST majority of teachers who are NEA members do not have such a contract. You call us a union because you think it sounds bad. But it’s not, we’re proud of who we are. We’re an advocacy group. We’re organized workers, but we’re, most of us I mean, are not unionized. Unfortunately.

It’s school boards making the decisions. And smart school boards make decisions based on CONSENSUS. In my rural Kentucky district the board talked to teachers, parents, STUDENTS, the state Ed Commission and state school board association. They listened and followed suggested guidance from the state. We shut down and the infection rate stayed down. Now most of our teachers have had the vaccine, or had the chance to get it. We open Monday, four days a week. Still in masks and social distancing. But we’ll be open.

Don’t blame it on teachers, just because Trump told you to. Think for yourselves. Somewhere along the line a teacher tried to get you to do that. Perhaps there is still time.

Even your priest Faucci says schools are NOT the place where covid is spread. Get a grip Libs. Get the teachers in school and lets get going!
