? I guess I must have missed something. This could be related to the fact that I have no idea who Mark Cuban is and I had to ddg “sports Mavericks” to find out it was the Dallas basketball pro team.

Something I have been trying to figure out: why is the anthem played at every sporting event? I can see it for major events but it makes no sense to me to play it for everything. I am not unpatriotic just practical.

Isn’t there a law that says you have to sing the Star Spangled Banner before you try to violently overthrow the American government?

I love the national anthem and the flag, but I don’t worship them. They are not idols to me.

You forgot the “L” after the “G”. Awesome! Mind if I use the term going forward?

Actually, I think Cuban was on to something. I mean, national anthems aren’t played before concerts, movies, etc.

Why not just play the National Anthem and refuse to play the game on BLM “principles”? That would satisfy EVERYONE!

Just like morality, patriotism cannot be legislated nor forced by the herd. Forced patriotism is fake patriotism. What idiot pledges allegiance to a flag or an anthem? Allegiance should be pledged to responsible government or one’s family or lifting up what is down.

Actually it’s a signal to the fans that the game is about to begin and to get their butts from the concessions to their seats.

There is a huge stigma associated with questioning anything to do with the National Anthem or the Pledge of Allegiance. I’ve always have had an issue with our pledge and our motto. I guess atheists aren’t patriotic Americans. Personally, I just turn that word around when I say the pledge.

What gives these pampered rich owners the right to play the national anthem? If it was a pop song they’d have to pay royalties. The national anthem belongs at Arlington National Cemetery on Memorial day. It belongs in a parade on the 4th of July. It’s totally unnecessary at a professional sports contest. The biggest roar of the day goes up at the end of the National Anthem since most people in attendance consider it an interruption in the action. Id rather save the anthem for events that allow for giving it the respect it deserves. Playing it at every game demeans it and almost begs for it to be disrespected.

If there was a real coup it would have happened, a few hundred MAGA’s cleared their throats is all. I can smell the fear from here.
