You have to have had a job first before you can apply for unemployment, and then lose that job through no fault of your own, and then apply to at least 4 jobs/week, and then not have turned down any offers of employment. It’s almost as if they don’t want to pay unemployment.

One of many skills the next generation will need. Should be a mandatory course taught at the high school level. Dealing with bureaucracy will keep a good many folk from the benefits they deserve.

Should’ve been theater or music majors.

It is amazing how many humanities majors do get good jobs. College is for learning how to learn. Many people wind up working in different fields from their college studies. Sure, humanities tends to attract slackers but it’s not easy to graduate as a slacker.

At many schools, on your first day of Intro to Engineering they discourage you from entering the field. Tell you to look on your right, then on your left – one of those people will not still be here at graduation. Which was a tip-off that they were going to bust our butts for no better reason than the professors felt they needed to get revenge on somebody… and to drive more students to majors where they might find the going easier and so stick around to rack up a full tuition bill…

Later, those stable geniuses started asking us for alumni donations (some of us got asked before we even graduated) and wondered why we weren’t enthusiastic…
