During the Guilded Age (roughly from 1880-WWI), obesity was a sign of prosperity. If you’re rich, you ate all the fatty meats and rich desserts you wanted, while the poor was stuck with produce. Today, it’s just the opposite: the wealthy can afford fancy spas and trainers, plus advocating a “healthy” diet, while the poor could only afford cheap fast-food. As a result, the rich are slim and fit, while many of the poor are obese.

And this doesn’t include fictional planets like Krypton (Superman’s planet) or Ork (Mork’s planet) or Melmac (ALF’s planet) or Mobius (Sonic the Hedgehog’s planet).

Don’t plan on moving to the equator for the lower weight. According to LiveScience.com, the difference is actually only 1/2 of 1% from the POLES. Therefore the difference for most of us about midway between the pole and the equator would only be about 1/4 of 1%.
