I had a German Shepherd who did that. Her muzzle became swollen.

    Did someone tell the beeth?

We didn’t get snow here, but they did a couple of streets farther up the hill. We’ve got a better chance tomorrow.

Now I know those of you who live with white winters aren’t too impressed with our dusting, but we get snow only every 3 to 5 years. I did get in my walk between the rain showers. At 38 degrees, it was brisk.Think of the tourists expecting to play in the sun.

    Today is:

National Plan For Vacation Day. I’ve already done that. I’ve put in my time off requests for one week in May (for planting my garden) and for the week of the 4th of July. They’ll both be “staycations” , so no further planning is needed.

    National Spouses Day

National Green Juice Day. I drink orange juice, not green juice.

    National Peanut Brittle Day

Bees are needed to pollinate everything we eat. The collapse of the bee population is a national concern.

I need to remember this poem for summer. I wonder if it works for wasps……kinda like a bee.

Well, the weather forecast was right – to a point. They said it would snow, and it did. But they said 1-2 inches (or maybe they said 2-4 inches?). Well, whatever they said, they were way off. We got 8 inches of the white stuff! I’m glad it’s my day off or I probably would have called in (as I’m sure a lot of people did). I’m off tomorrow too.

For the first time since I bought it a year or so ago, I took my electric shovel out of the box to clear a path from my back door to my car. Well, that thing really isn’t designed to handle a snow like this (it’s more for 3 or maybe 4 inches, tops) so I ended up going back to using my regular shovel. But we have a very nice guy in the neighborhood who has a plow on his truck. Once I shoveled out to my car, I saw he had already been by and he cleared out my driveway all the way up to my car. It saved me a lot of work. I expect that very soon the plow will come by and fill the driveway in again. But I’m sure Gary the plow guy will come and clear me out again. He does this for free for anyone who asks.

At the age of 9, Bucky has discovered catnip. He found an old bag of it in the living room and now he can’t get enough of it. He never went near the stuff before.

Previous dog, Saucy (who loaned me her name) would catch bees out of the air and eat them. Never got stung as far as I know.

Good poem. I’m sure the bee would want to avoid Chesney too. I’ve never been afriad of bees. I figure, if I don’t bother them, they won’t bother me. I’d rather not cross paths with wasps, though. On another note, saw a golden crowned kinglet, three varied thrushes, and a wren while out walking today.
