Just about all of our junk calls are robocalls now. I answer the phone and don’t say anything. The robocall machine is waiting for me to say something to start its pitch. After about 5 seconds I hang up. A real person calling would have said “Hello” or something in that time.
Call blocking could be more effective if phone companies would just refuse to connect the calls the screen shows as (spam). Would also help if they blocked scammer access to their unsubscribed numbers. I use 2 apps to check some numbers, and both often show a _ no subscriber can be found for this number_

I still have a landline. About 90% of the calls are scammers and telemarketers. I keep the line for the 10%.
