    Yeah I got behind one of them once. She scanned the item, waited for the price to show, made sure it was correct, then, ever so carefully, placed the item on the belt. I had to move to another isle.

    i will not use a self checkout. The big chains installed them as labour “saving” devices – read here: workforce reduction.

    Checkers are working folks who earn a wage to buy food, clothing, & to keep a roof over their heads.

    WallyWorld, Target, Safeway, etc, don’t pay me to do someone else’s job & take the food off of checkers’ plates.

    I miss incorrect priced items half the time when a cashier scans it. Especially because the price comes up as three lines, original price, discount and sale price at the display. Some places hide the display like a card hand until the end.
