It’s all in the terminology. For example, landscaping should have, with the over use of blowers, become landscraping or landscalping. Rakes are never seen, grass seed is in the wind, and fall blooms turn into confetti. One guy was told to stay out of the flower beds. Evidently he misunderstood because he blew a dozen new iris sets into the vacuum truck. Used to have a guy and his partner and we walked the yard and discussed what to do next. Always did a good job and asked questions if he wasn’t sure about something. Now the truck pulls up, the blowers roar, and last week’s planning goes into the hopper. Mechanical progress doesn’t necessarily mean better service.
