Identity politics to the nth degree combined with neoliberalism at home and neoconservatism abroad. Can’t miss with ordinary Americans.

I agree there’s little ideological diversity, but you’ve never advocated that, Ted. You have advocated for a more liberal set of policies, but you’d rather there be no moderates. It’s kinda funny that progressives spent so much time denigrating Biden but now feel he owes them something.

Oh, I am sure that the Senate would NEVER confirm an unfit apointee. And if they don’t work out he can just fire them, am I right?

Ted, worrying about quality is good, I agree. We want Jeffersons and Hamiltons, don’t we? But those guys are few and far between. At least Biden won’t have any Kushners.

Once again Ted uses iconoclasm to emulate intellectualism. Trashing everything does not make one a thinker.

Why is it that I find the depression of Bob the Squirrel to be sorta soothing, while Theodore’s just make we worry about his health?

There is what you want, and what can actually be done. It boils down to what are the practical choices of the present time. For this election, the choices turned out to be Mr. Trump or Mr. Biden. Hopefully, we will get past the inauguration with Mr. Trump locked out of office. If/when we get there, I would count ourselves as very fortunate. The feedback that we are getting from other countries gives us an not so pretty look at where the US is, at present.

I’m thinking President Biden doesn’t believe he can get more Progressive appointees through a Republican Senate, also assuming the Republicans maintain control. Of course, he could just be appointing candidates meeting his political philosophy, not ones to the left of it.

So let’s move the needle. One election won’t do it. Uncle Joe is a big improvement over the current occupant, but we need the next and the one after that. FDR didn’t make whole sale changes to the way our government functions all on his lonesome.

In which why is this based on reality? Sure, they’re not the most radical progressives, being more like Obama moderates, but that is a significant improvement. Obama was actually a good President, who managed Ebola successfully. To say that a Biden government would not care whether you live or die is patently wrong. Obama policies were still, for the most part, successful in these areas.

Geeze, Ted, Biden can’t fix the country by himself! That’s why he’s looking for the best possible people for the job (like hiring the dude Obama nominated for Surgeon General that got bottlenecked by the Senate to head his Covid task force). And why I remain hopeful that both Democratic Senate contenders win the runoff election in GA on 01/05, so that the Senate will be split 50-50 (with VP Harris as the tiebreaker). I’m not expecting Biden/Harris to completely fix the damage Trump caused to our economy, world standing, etc. in four years (it’s easier to break things than fix them, after all). But putting the grownups back in charge was an important first step! As James Baldwin wrote, “Not every problem that is faced can be solved, but no problem can be solved that isn’t faced.”

Baloney. Biden wants to reunite this Nation as much as is possible. Diversity is the prominent ideal in every pick by Biden. The socialist/communists just have very few qualified members to choose from.

People didn’t vote for Biden because they want him to abandon NATO & ANZUS, Korea, Japan & Taiwan. They want an orderly wind down in the Middle East, that doesn’t leave people living there in total chaos.

They didn’t vote for guillotining Bezos & nationalizing Amazon. They want a fairer tax system & more support for labor.

Contrary to Ted’s usual ranting, most of the left wing of the Party are ok with Biden’s Cabinet picks. Even when they’re not dream picks for the left, they are competent & willing to listen.

I really want Biden to nominate Bernie to something, so Ted & the rest of the horseshoe left can flip out.

No, no, we rather have people with experience their field, like Trump’s appointments. Or even better, people who have never held a job at all
