Hmm. A typewriter. Even in 1993 I’d have been using a computer. Hmm… Word for Mac v 5 or Word for DOS v 5.5 or 6. (Word for Mac 6 stunk. It sold, but that was because it had no real competition. Word for Mac still has no real competition.) Windows would then have been Win 3.x, and Word for Windows was… primitive, being based on Word for Mac v 1.05 from 1985, with some features from Word for Mac 3. Word for Windows didn’t catch up to Word for Mac or Word for DOS until Office 95 .) I haven’t used a typewriter, other than addressing envelopes or typing labels or similar, since 1983-4.
Pages on my iMac (21.5-inch, Late 2015) beats the hell out of the Word Perfect (in my opinion) that my wife used on her tower computer and later on her laptop.
Typewriters have their advantages… Well, the only one I can think of is that it doesn’t turn into a movie theater or a discussion group with a few keystrokes. :)
