Stay Home Because You’re Well Day. On November 30th, Stay Home Because You’re Well Day gives us an excuse to stay in for the day. We all need a break, and it’s nice to take it when we healthy and can enjoy it. That said, if everyone in the working world took the same day to stay home because we were well, chaos would ensue. We all need time alone. It’s essential to disconnect from our daily routines. Sometimes we have a checklist of things we would do. Others have no idea what we’d do left to our own devices.Being home when we are healthy can come with a sense of accomplishment, too. We can tackle tasks we’ve been wanting to complete for a while. It can also be an opportunity for some much-needed relaxation. Everyone sees a healthy day off differently. Use it as you see fit.
National Mason Jar Day. Did you know that Mason jars (or any canning jars) were very hard to get this year in late summer & into fall? With COVID keeping people home, more people were gardening and canning so canning supplies were hard to get for several weeks.

National Mousse Day. I had to look this up to see if it was for hair mousse or dessert mouse. It’s for the dessert. On November 30th, National Mousse Day serves up a delicious treat that can be savory or sweet.
What can we say about mousse? The word mousse in French means foam. Typically, we whip egg whites or cream to make a mousse. Depending on the type of mousse, its consistency can vary from light and airy to thick and creamy.
Mousse can also be used as a filling for other dishes such as pastries and parfaits. A savory mousse pairs well with fruit and cheese plates making beautiful appetizers, too.
From yesterday’s comments to sweetpeapete – I’m sorry to hear of this tragedy. I remember once when one of my nephews hit a horse that got loose and was out on the highway. He felt pretty bad about it.
OT Stop & Shop (Forest Hills, NY) has not received Little Friskies canned cat food in over a month. I finally asked them about this. Answer: Due to the Covid 19 pandemic the chain of shipment of many of their items is unreliable. @7-8 weeks ago I had decided to give my boys a change from exclusively Pate (their fav) to also serving some meaty bits w/ gravy, saucy and chunky flavors. All that is available now (past 4 weeks) are the flavors with gravy or sauce.
OT . I finally met my daughter’s in-laws and brother’s-in-law the day after Thanksgiving (via Google Talk). Would you believe that ALL 5 households had cats (total 9). And all the cats, except little ‘cousin’ Emma , my daughter’s cat, made appearances (slept through it as daughter didn’t want to disturb her). Even my elderly pooch got screen time. CATS RULE!!!!!
You want to help, Chesney? Then sit down and be quiet! (Sorry if that sounds mean.) On another note, saw five varied thrushes, a towhee, a junco, five golden crowned kinglets, and two rabbits while out walking today. I also saw a wren outside.
