In fourth grade Rudie, John and I learned… but not as implied by the cartoon. While the teacher was droning on during the science lesson, we were drawing pictures and just goofing around. When called upon we showed that we understood the lesson, and even our drawings were related to it. I don’t know which made Miss H. madder, us not paying attention, or that we knew the information. Our ‘punishment’ lasted the next several Fridays. The three of us had to create and present demonstrations to the class which went along with the science lessons. We did our best to make sure our ‘experiments’ created the biggest mess possible. I guess we learned our lesson.

Yep, long-long ago, I learned the rear row seat farthest from teach and sliding low did not help.
